This restaurant recently opened in a strip mall near where I live so I thought I'd give it a try. Walking inside, I was very pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, it's not at all what you would expect from the outside. Mood lighting and mood music, attentive waitstaff, a menu that is neither too vast nor too small. Reasonably priced and generous portions of food, both my daughter and I really enjoyed our meals. Conversation was not competing with the music and I noticed the staff attempts to space patrons at least one table away from other patrons when possible, making the meal a little more intimate. This would be a great place for a date, but they also have kid portions, so it's a place you can bring the kids too. My daughter was the only child in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. We'll definitely go back!

We had the opportunity to visit this local restaurant for dinner a few weeks ago. It had been recommend by friends and we love to support our local small businesses in our community. Upon entering the restaurant we were totally suprised by the beautiful decor and ambiance of the dinning room and bar area. We had called a head for reservations and were told they were not necessary...but recommended. Upon entering we were greeted and sat quickly at a nice table for 4. The server quickly greeted us and offered us beverages. Their wine selection was modest, but we did find a nice bottle to enjoy with dinner. We ordered our appetizers and then Chef Taso came through the dinning room explaining the specials and presenting the fresh cuts of beef and seafood that were available for the evening. You can tell how much he loves food and creating amazing dishes and dining experiences for his guests. The highlight of the evenign was when Chef Taso came out and carved the Rack of Lamb that we ordered table side. Excellent Touch! Forgot for a few minutes that we were in New Port Richey...but so glad that he has chosen our community to share his talents. Looking forward to our next visit to this restaurant.

The best Italian restaurant near New Port Richey by far. It exceeded my expectations, the food was delicious, the wine was fantastic and even the owner/chef Taso was great! Super nice man who cares about the quality of his restaurant and its patrons... I will definitely be going back on my next trip down to NPR. Don't hesitate to come here!

A new treasure in Pasco! I often travel to Tampa to find non-chain restaurant good food and now we finally have a place close to home. Excellent food, service and the best Sangria I have ever had!

We love this restaurant. First of all, the service is as good as it gets. The owner/manager came and presented the specials. The menu is just large enough and so far everything we have ordered has been great. The chef comes out to greet and talk with the guests which is a very nice touch. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Great food with an attention to detail! Excellent drinks and nice wine selection. Owner and staff make you feel very welcome. Try the white pizza, chicken franchese and the antipasto, all my favorites. Ambiance is just right. Sabrina at the front will keep you entertained while waiting for your take out!

Hit or miss Italian. I've been when the food has been great and when it hasn't...same for the live music. But decent, non-chain restos aren't in plenty in this area, so for a local night out visiting family, it's a good option.

Ordered food to go. Had the spaghetti bolognese with ricotta, This was delicious. The side salad is small but good. The reason for 3 stars is the Italian bread they gave with the meal was full of mold on the inside.

Great food and wonderful service. We went out for a date night and the server made sure that we were able to relax and have a slow paced meal. There was no rushing us, despite the fact that the restaurant was filling up. The band started to play half way thru out meal and it was not loud at all in the dining room and quite enjoyable. Good sized portions. We will definitely be back!

Not so good anymore. I used to love their pizzas and salads. It seems like they are so busy now the quality of the food and service has declined. The staff look stressed and unorganized. Our pizza was burnt, the spaghetti was over sauced and the sauce flavors are umbalanced. They are in need of good management to handle the increased workload.

Family owned and operated. I am from an Italian heritage family and was born in Brooklyn NY. Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was amazing. Try the Five Families plate. Pizza is very rustic and authentic Italia. Owner is very personable and passionate about his food.

We've eaten at Taso's twice and have gotten take-out probably about 6 or 7 times and have never been disappointed. The first time we tried it we dined in and it everything we had was absolutely delicious. The Spinach & Artichoke Rangoons were on special so we decided to try them and they were so good we were fighting over the last one! I tried the Fruta di Mare fra diavolo style and it was the best I have had outside of NY. Taso even came over after a while and asked if the sauce was too spicy but it wasn't - just a perfect marriage of tomatoes, garlic, herbs and pepper. My wife tried the Fish in Fillo which was made with basa this night and again a home run in the flavor department. My daughter had a 10" Margherita pizza which is now her favorite pizza in the Trinity area. My wife and I returned again and decided to put together a surf and turf for ourselves consisting of the 14 oz Delmonico Au Poivre and the Shrimp and Scallops Scampi. The steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare as we like it and the seafood was fresh an served with a flavorful scampi sauce over rice pilaf. Taso uses Black Angus reserve steaks and the quality is obvious as it literally melted in our mouths. Yum! We finished the night off by splitting a tiramisu that was one of the best we've had in a long time. We've also gotten take out which has included the Grandma pizza (like Sicilian just not as thick of a crust) and were amazed at how good it tasted. They have the best pizza in the Trinity area. I've tried the Five Families which is a great choice for someone who wants to sample their ravioli, manicotti, stuffed shell, sausage and meatballs in one meal. Did I mention the meatball? I have never had such a tender tasty meatball except for Mamas! My wife recently tried the Penne Stoli with grilled chicken and raved about how good it was so I have to try some. The sauce was light and delicate but packed with flavor. I love the fact that the owner, who also is one of the chef's, comes out and walks around the dining room to see how all of his customers are. Taso is a great guy who is very proud of his food and you can tell by the big smile on his face when he talks about it. I would disregard the one review advising to avoid this place as this Yelper didn't even try the food. I'm not sure why he didn't try to talk to the hostess as I am sure they would have rectified the situation.

Just don't see all the hype. Granted this is my first time here, But the chicken in the chicken Parm was rather hard and dry...I'm guessing frozen. If we could do half stars I would give 3 1/2 due to the attentiveness of the staff.

Great food and great service. We used to frequent Taso's other restaurant Stassis before he sold it. It was never the same. Once we saw he was opening up Taso's we were super stoked. We try to get here as often as we can and usually sit at the bar which is small but cozy. Taso is usually cooking but always makes sure to come out to shake your hand and say hello.

AVOID THIS PLACE! It was my wife and I anniversary this past Friday night and we wanted to try this Italian Restaurant out, we live rite down the street from here. I have heard from friends about the great food here. We walked in at around 5pm, there was about 20 tables and half of them were taken, we were immediately seated. There were two other couples seated after us. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes, we were not greeted by a server, we were not offered drinks, we were not acknowledged by any of the servers, then my wife and I were baffled to see both tables that came in after us were getting drinks. My wife just stood up and walked out the door, I went up to the owner to let him know of our very unpleasant experience here, I attempted to get his attention as he talked to another table in his chef coat and he would acknowledge me. We didn't want this ugly experience to ruin our anniversary night. We ended up having a incredibly dinner for a fraction of the costs at Anthony Italian Restaurant.

Yum! Fresh bread with olive oil and pesto. I could fill up on just the homemade bread and delicious wine! Pappa Stassi makes you feel right at home coming around table to table to make sure you feel right at home. Def will be coming back the next time I'm in town visiting my parents.

Tasos is a great place to eat! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was in there one time. I went back about 2 months later and Sabrina remembered my name. I was very impressed, not only about that but the food was consistent with the last visit. They have very good Italian food, pizza too. It has a nice atmosphere and the owner, Taso is a really nice and down to earth guy, who also cooks. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an affordable nice dinner with great service and friendly staff.

I took the family here to celebrate getting together, there were 7 of us. I have allergies so the chef came out and planned my dinner around what I could eat. The rest of the family were all happy with their choices. We were checked on often and what was needed was attended to. We were there on a Sat. nite and the music was really fun. It is a great neighborhood restaurant..

Hard to believe this place is in NPR. Been there 4 times and the good quality has been consistent. Salads are very fresh and delicious. Had pizza the first time on Fr and it was very good. Amazing crust! The only disappointment was that the spinach was not fresh? Tasted like canned. Excellent service. Wine list is limited, but good quality. Check it out!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
